I hope you enjoy Wired. It is a sappy sad story but oh well. It is pretty short.
I have plans to write a short horror story but don't want to turn my attention away from The Enmity of Nobody. This is from when I was first exploring prose so isn't that good but please enjoy.

Wired
A Short Story
By Logan Douglas
It all started at the beginning of the Wired Genesis. The Genesis of the Wire. It was the start of the groups. Well, actually the discovery of That started it. Dr.Olia Manfred discovered a junk DNA, a chromosome 24(a pair actually but you know.). The chromosome was hidden in the some hidden cell deep in the brain. It was dubbed The Wire by the public. If you altered it, it would allow the person with that altered gene to change to the appearance it specifies. Using genetic codes they can change you.
If you get it changed it really isn't so simple. The code is so incredibly long that Dr.Manfred was studying it for 30 years, continuing the studies of her great-grandmother Rosalind Crestley. It was a secret operation carried out by a group of scientists secluded in a Canadian forest. They can change your entire appearance, from your height to your face. It is called being Wired. Once you have been Wired you are a Current.
The first Current was Aisha Valida. When I was in fifth grade everyone was called down for an assembly. They announced all of the information of The Wire. Then they announced that the first Current was one of our classmates. A girl that looked like she just walked out of an anime pranced on stage. She had waist-length silver hair and large silver eyes. Her skin was white as pearls. She was skinny and tall. She was also super strong. She WAS my best friend.
The Waves, or Doctors and Experimenters only picked certain children. They picked the insanely smart and they became Currents. This was the groups. I was picked too. This was when I figured out the secret of being... Wired. The Currents were geniuses that, after being Wired, were made into spies. The government was planning a war. The World War III was coming and they wanted us to be their spies. Our only disguise being superficial teenagers who went to the downtown boarding school for Currents. Society thought we were smart kids who got lucky.
The war started in 2026. When Austria was bombed by a fort of people in Antartica. At the same time guns were fired in the USA as Finland and Poland invaded. Soon it was an all out war between everyone in the world. There were allies and enemies. One thing was for sure though. As a continent, North America was together. We were the only ones who had Currents. Teenagers in disguise. I was on Team 1. The first ever group. It consisted of Aisha, Miu, Garnish, and I(by the way my name is Eithne). We were all girls and also the first Currents.
It all ended in 2029 in the heat of the war we were sent to Russia to see if they had nuclear weapons. Aisha was Eva. Miu was Diane. Garnish was Asya and I was Anya. We were deposited there by a secret helicopter where a spy was waiting. She brought us into the barracks as a "tour" and showed us everything. We saw no nuclear weapons but we did see people. The people we saw were Currents and they also looked incredibly strong. We wrote a report on our mission then prepared for return. When we were getting on the helicopter, the Russians saw us and started shooting. The killed Aisha, Miu, and Garnish and left me with a terrifying memory as the helicopter flew away.
When I returned to the USA I resigned from Team 1. The official understood and gave me a medal for going through such a horrible experiance. It still haunts me today. After the war ended in 2033 I was finally able to sleep again. I turned on the TV and saw the news that we had won. I wept and wept and then they named all of the Current spies that died in the war. They started with Team 100 and went down. As they named Aisha, Miu, and Garnish, I sobbed violently remembering my old comrades. Then the news anchor said the words I couldn't even imagine, " We salute Eithne of Team 1 for her bravery and loss. Remember that heart you got. The first Violet Tears and Silver Memories Heart. "
As he said it I took my heart pendant that was pinned to my shirt and clutched it to my heart. I never took it off. It was my sign of love and loss. My sign of being wired. No one ever got one again. Everyone knew me by my pendant. My heart helped give me strength when my true heart was weak. I was the oldest Current alive. I was the second person to ever be Wired and I was special. I traveled the country giving talks of my missions and hardships. I even talked of my loss but I didn't cry because Team 1 would forever be in my Violet Tears and Silver Memories, in my heart.

For Example:
ATGCTTAG AGGTCCGG
Blond hair and Green eyes to Silver hair and Violet eyes
